The Bus Service Mechanic performs general maintenance and light-duty repairs to vehicles for Tri-Valley’s transportation department and provides upkeep to transit facilities. Essential functions include performing routine automotive maintenance and preventive care, diagnostic services, work on wheelchair-lift maintenance and repair, assisting in maintaining inventory, and coordination of maintenance schedule.

Requirements
Degree or Certificate in Automotive Repair or related field; or two years of experience working in a position requiring basic mechanical aptitude.
Demonstrated success in performing a wide variety of tasks requiring an understanding of bus automotive repair; will be tested.
Current Commercial Driver's License with passenger endorsement; meets requirements of bus driver position or is willing and able to obtain within 3 months from hire date. Will provide training to obtain within 3 months, if needed.
Proof of valid driver's license.
Current Medical Examination Card; upon hire and maintain thereafter.
Minimum age of 21 years, if required to drive bus across state line.
Pass pre-employment drug screening and background search requirements as listed on Conditional Job Offer; upon hire and continuously meet requirements thereafter. Participate in subsequent drug/alcohol testing and background searches as appropriate.
Two years of experience working with computers, including a basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Must have own basic hand tools.
