Bold School in Olivia MN is looking for a Director of Buildings and Grounds

$60,000-$100,000. Benefits included.

This position is responsible for the overall management and maintenance of all district facilities and properties. The Director of Buildings and Grounds oversees custodial and maintenance staff, ensures the safety and functionality of all buildings and properties, and plays a key role in the district's long-term facility planning and improvement initiatives.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership and Supervision:
* Lead, supervise, and evaluate the performance of custodial and maintenance staff.
* Develop and implement effective staff training programs.
* Foster a positive and productive work environment.

Facility Management:
* Conduct regular inspections of all district buildings and grounds to identify maintenance and repair needs.
* Oversee all aspects of facility maintenance, including preventative maintenance, repairs, and renovations.
* Ensure the proper functioning of all building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and security.
* Manage facility budgets, including procurement, repairs, and maintenance costs.
* Develop and implement long-term facility improvement plans.

Safety and Compliance:
* Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, including OSHA, fire codes, and ADA.
* Conduct safety inspections and implement safety protocols.
* Coordinate with the district's safety coordinator on safety matters.

Grounds Maintenance:
*Oversee the maintenance of all district grounds, including landscaping, snow removal, and groundskeeping.

Communication and Collaboration:
* Communicate effectively with the Superintendent, building principals, staff, students, and community members.
* Collaborate with other departments on facility-related projects.
* Represent the district on relevant committees and boards.

Other Duties as Assigned:
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Strong knowledge of building maintenance principles and practices.
* Working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety.
* Proficiency in budgeting, procurement, and contract management.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* Ability to problem-solve effectively and make sound decisions.
* Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong commitment to safety and customer service.

Licenses and Certifications:
* Valid Minnesota Driver's License.
* First Class Grade C Boiler License.
* Commercial Pool Operator's License.
* Other relevant certifications preferred.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

Experience: Five to eight years of experience in facilities management or a related field, including supervisory experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
* This position may require long hours, including evenings and weekends.
* Work may involve exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and inclement weather conditions.
* Physical demands include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
